During the Division's more than six months of combat, Centurymen earned three Medals of Honor, 36 Distinguished Service Crosses, and over 500 Silver Stars for individual heroism in combat. Units of the Division earned eight Distinguished Unit Citations for collective heroism in some of the hardest fighting of the war in the European Theater of Operations.
Additionally, 916 Centurymen were killed in action (KIA), while 3,656 were wounded in action, and 180 men became missing.
