Sergeant Mike Colalillo, C/398th Infantry Regiment, receives the Medal of Honor from President Truman in ceremonies at the White House in December, 1945. Sergeant Colalillo received the Medal for actions near Untergriesheim, Germany, on 7 April 1945. Also present at the ceremony were Sergeant Colalillo's father, Carlo Colalillo; his brother Pat with wife Lorraine; and his two sisters, Mary and Jenny Sisto. Sergeant Colalillo was discharged shortly after the Presidential ceremony and returned to his native Minnesota to get on with civilian life.
